Be immersed in nature and connect with animals, engage and find a way forward. Ignite inner confidence and a sense of achievement through a passion for nature, positive connections with animals, and the supportive individuals who help you and the animals to grow.
With 18 years of experience as a lead teacher and inclusion manager in both specialist and mainstream school settings, I have dedicated my career to supporting young people with additional needs. My commitment has always been to improve the personal and academic outcomes for the vulnerable individuals in my care.
Through both personal experience and my work, I have witnessed first-hand the transformative benefits of being surrounded by animals and nature, particularly in relation to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH). The peace and tranquillity found in practices like forest bathing, along with the endorphin boost from outdoor exercise, are truly unmatched.
As someone who has always rescued and nurtured small animals, I have seen how contributing to their recovery positively impacts my own happiness and confidence, regardless of how small the life may be. I am eager to combine my expertise in specialised support with my belief in the powerful role that nature and animals can play in personal development.
I hope The Learning Sanctuary will be able to work with schools and authorities to support our young people to embark on a journey of success and achievement that caters for the individual.
I am a qualified teacher with over 15 years experience of both mainstream and specialist settings.
I last 10 years I have been working in a senior leadership role at a local specialist setting. I believe that every interaction is an intervention with young people; that building strong, supportive relationships is the key to their growth and success.
I am passionate about the outdoors and the benefit that animals bring to holistic development.
My aim is to create tailored platforms that empower young people to grow in confidence and to thrive personally, ensuring they reach their full potential.
I am a very quiet member of staff with the most gentle and loving nature. I am training to become a therapy dog, which I am passing with flying colours.
I can’t wait to take you out walking with my pack of other friendly hounds who are ready to get to know you.
